Education has always been referred to as the bedrock of every society. without Education, a society is said to be in the dark because education is light of a society. The form in which education may come in does not necessarily matter as long as it leads to enlightenment of the soul,body and the society as a whole.
Some societies tend to encourage both the formal and informal forms of education taking into to cognizance the import that both forms have on individuals and the society. forcing an individual into the formal education those not necessarily mean or guarantee the person will do well in school. Its much more advisable to find out what the individual prefers and encourage him in that path. This societies know that government cannot provide jobs for every citizen hence the need to look for viable alternatives other than government jobs. This style of education is mostly practised in developed economies like the US, UK, CANADA etc .
Other less develop societies and the underdeveloped societies tend to move much more closely to the formal education which to them is the only path to a better which. In these societies education is the only avenue to escape from poverty and backwardness. Societies that practise this form education at the long run only to create huge backlog of graduates(both good and half baked) all eyeing the small employment space government can create. Individuals in these kind of societies have been programmed to believe that education is the only path to a guaranteed good future. They are not to look for other avenues for employment such as agriculture, small business, etc other than government jobs. In the long run if not checked, these societies tend to fester unemployed graduates who then go into various nefarious activities to survive.
Education is very instrumental to development,but priority should not be placed on the form that education can be achieved. formal,informal and even the street education are all imperative to any society that seeks to develop and grow.
