ANGRY TRADERS ATTACK GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FOR LOCKING UP MARKET.

Officials of the Anambra State Urban Development
Board (ASUDEB), were Wednesday rescued by Onitsha
market leaders when they fell into the hands of angry
traders who had already organized themselves to deal
with them for allegedly locking up three access gates
leading to the Electronics International Market,
Onitsha.
According to reports, the ASDUDEB officials led by its
General Manager, Mr. Nathan Enemuo and the officer-
in-charge of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Mrs Ngozi
Atisele, had stormed the market in the early hours of
Wednesday and allegedly locked up of the three gates.
The Public Relations Officer, PRO, Ikechukwu
Onwuama and Secretary of the market, Comrade
Damian Ogudike, blamed the General Manager (GM)
and his officials for being biased in locking up the
gates.
They decried that the GM must have been bribed by
their neighbours at the nearby market, Ogboefele
market and Orange Drug, whose gates were reportedly
not locked.
“The General Manager and his team would have been
lynched by the traders,” the duo stated.

They however, called on the state governor, Willie
Obiano, to investigate the illegal activities of the
ASUDEB General Manager and his officials before they
run into trouble, else, “we can’t guarantee their safety
next time they come into the market for this kind of
illegality,” Ogudike and Onwuama cautioned.
