BANK MANAGER, DISPATCH RIDER ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY.

The Police authorities in Delta State have arrested a
manager and a despatch rider of a commercial bank in
Warri, in connection with an attempted bank robbery.
Delta police public relations officer, DSP Celestina
Kalu, said in a statement Friday in Asaba that the two
bank staff were arrested after investigation revealed
their complicity in a foiled attempt to rob the bank.
“On September 4, 2015, the police received credible
information that a gang of armed robbers had finalised
plans to rob Enterprise Bank Plc, Effurun – Sapele
Road, by Refinery Junction, Warri.
“So SARS operatives mounted surveillance around the
Bank, and at about 5.23 pm of same date, the
hoodlums invaded the Bank.
“But they were successfully repelled by a combined
team of SARS operatives and mobile policemen on duty
at the Bank”, Kalu said.
The police image maker said that investigation by the
police later revealed that two staff of the bank were
involved in the attempted robbery.
She gave the names of the two staff as Mr. Francis
Enebeme, the operations manager and Mr. Wilfred
Akah, the bank’s despatch rider.
Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the two staff, said
investigation by the police revealed that the two bank
staff were involved in the planning and execution of the
foiled robbery.
She disclosed that the two men were currently
undergoing interrogation, adding that various sums of
