"OKOROCHA IS LIVING IN A FOOL'S PARADISE"- APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, former party of the Imo State Governor, Owelle
Rochas Okorocha has berated him over what it described as unguarded words of ingratitude
and uncharitable demeanour against the party.
APGA leadership, which spoke in reaction to a recent
interview in a national newspaper, slammed the Governor
for “his self-serving, personal glorification and lack luster
attitude against a party that saved him from political
oblivion,” insisting that the interview was full of ranting,
disparaging and caustic words against the party.
A statement from the party’s Director of Publicity,
Iheanacho Oguejiofor, quoted the chairman, Dr. Victor Ike
Oye, as noting that APGA would ordinarily have ignored
Okorocha’s ungratefulness and uncharitable demeanor
against the party, but for the fact that indifference could
never be a virtue on a pedestal of false pontificating.
According to Oye, “The governor of Imo State instead of
being eternally grateful to APGA which emancipated him
from his political bondage, years of unrealized electoral
contest and long gallivanting political wilderness, which his
personal quest for power made him to traverse, he chose
to commit sacrilege against the party and poured insult on
the sensibilities of those APGA faithful and supporters who
toiled day and night with their time, energy and wherewithal
to make him become the elected governor of Imo State, in
2011, against all odds of vying against a sitting governor,
which he thereafter absconded with the people’s divine
mandate and defected to an amorphous platform of
strange bedfellows and power mongers, totally strange to
the emotion and collective thinking, wishes, yearning and
aspirations of Imo citizenry in particular and Igbo people in
general.
“Owelle Rochas Ethelbert Okorocha ought to know that his
last won election in 2015 was marred with horrendous
irregularities which were just a pronounced pyrrhic victory
for him, considering the transparent, credible and
overwhelming votes cast for him in 2011 general elections,
which he won with uncommon goodwill of Imo people and
convincingly on the platform of APGA.”
The APGA chairman told Okorocha to wake from his
slumber to the reality of the moment insisting that his
visionless policies and lack of direction has made him lose
the confidence of the electorate who are already regret the
support they gave him in 2011, reminding him that he could
have collapsed like a pack of cards during the 2011
elections but for the irregularities that marred the elections.
According to the statement, “The party advises Okorocha to
stop living in fool’s paradise, as his governance anchored
on ‘Rescue Mission’ is nothing but visionless and rudderless
that needs to be truly rescued from crass ineptitude and
gross maladministration.
“It is common knowledge that the government of Imo state
led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha lacks the basic managerial
skills and ideas on how to govern a state like Imo state,
which is richly endowed with both great intellectuals and
huge material resources. APGA therefore urges him to go
to Anambra State for a tutorial on how to govern a modern
state and on how to harness the various abundant
potentialities in Imo state.
“Meanwhile, the Imo state governor should be told in case
he pretends not to be aware, that Imo people are generally
disappointed in his awkward style of administration, which
caters only to the needs and desires of his in-laws,
relations and business partners with his self-deceptive
slogan of ‘my people; my people’ instead of ‘my in-laws,
my business partners’, which is a baptismal reference of his
kind of governance of Imo state.
“Moreover, the man who is at the helm of affairs in
Douglas House who is politically naive should know that
governance is not about how loquacious, garrulous,
sophistry and theatrical a governor chooses to be, but how
he can positively impact on the welfare and lives of the hoi
polloi, which is what the Imo people are in dire need of
now, instead of his junketing around,” the party stated.
