Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, could not hide his
delight at claiming his first win in charge of the team
on Tuesday.
Nigeria beat Niger Republic 2-0 in a friendly played in
Port Harcourt, just three days after a goalless draw
against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
“No doubt I’m happy because there were improvements
from the game against Tanzania and the motive of this
game was to correct what was noticed,” Oliseh said on
SuperSport moments match.
“In terms of defending we did well and when we
pressed we did it well but I hope to see the team keep
the ball more and dictate the pace of the game.”
The former national team skipper also insisted that
there is still room for Chelsea midfielder John Mikel
Obi and Lille stopper, Vincent Enyeama in his squad.
“There’s room for Mikel and the rest but so long as
they all are playing regularly. All these players that
featured against Niger and Tanzania were all playing
for their respective teams,” Oliseh added.
On Enyeama, who missed the two games because of
his mother’s death, the former Juventus and Borussia
Dortmund man said: “Nobody is indispensable; it is
only Nigeria that is indispensable. I played for the
country and I retired, someone else took over and
that’s life.”
A site that looks at the good, the bad and even the sordid details of socio-political issues of all ramifications just the way they happen. Enjoy!
