The probe of former Plateau State governor and
now Senator Jonah Jang over allegation of
treasury looting tops the new year agenda of his
successor Simon Lalong.
Lalong’s media aide, Emmanuel Nanle told Daily
Trust yesterday that with a cabinet in place, the
administration will soon take the probe of Jang to
the next level. “An action will certainly be adopted
on the next phase of the probe,” Nanle said,
stressing that with a State Executive Council
(SEC) composed because of the appointment and
inauguration of a cabinet, the administration will
set the motion for the probe of treasury looters to
recover state funds.
Nanle had said earlier that the absence of a
cabinet was delaying the probe of Jang, who the
administration accused of leading an
administration that perpetrated alleged looting of
funds as well as “personalising governance,” and
assured that as soon a cabinet was composed,
the reports of various committees which raised
the allegations would be tabled for approval and
necessary action.
“There will be a follow up on those areas the
committees recommended for further action,”
Nanle said.
Governor Lalong himself has declared on several
occasions that he would go after treasury looters
to recovery stolen funds.
