Operation Safe Haven, in charge of maintaining
peace in Plateau State and some parts of Bauchi
State, has declared one Aminu Hanbane wanted in
connection with cattle rustling and proliferation of
arms around Barkin Ladi and Riyom local
government areas of Plateau State.
Daily Trust also gathered that the OSH in Barkin
Ladi arrested one Mark Pam Bot, a youth leader in
connection with the recent attack on Bisichi while
the 12 persons earlier arrested by the task force
will soon be handed over to the police for
prosecution.
A statement issued by OSH Media and
Information Officer, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, did
not give details on the arms dealer but indicated
that the suspect was wanted following series of
operations conducted in the aftermath of the
Bisichi incidence in Barkin Ladi.
The statement further urged the public to assist
with information which could lead to the arrest of
the suspect and any known collaborators to come
forward with such information to the
Headquarters of Operation Safe Haven or any of
its sector headquarters, especially at Barkin Ladi,
Riyom and Jos South Local Government Councils.
It assured members of the community that any
information provided would be treated with
absolute confidentiality while assuring the public
of OSH’s determination to protect lives and
property of all law abiding citizens.
Captain Iweha while speaking with our
correspondent also said he could not verify if Bot
had been arrested at the time of filing this report
but said the youth leader had agreed to cooperate
with security agents by providing the names of
Berom youths in connection to the attacks around
Bisichi earlier this month.
A site that looks at the good, the bad and even the sordid details of socio-political issues of all ramifications just the way they happen. Enjoy!
