KOLA NUT AND ROGER POLICY.

    I recently had one of the weirdest dream i can recall during a siesta. I was going for an interview and was accosted at a check point by a policeman who demanded for my particulars,to avoid any waste of time,i quickly squeezed hundred naira in my palm in the typical "roger" fashion and handed it to him,but i got the shock of my life when the policeman just smiled and politely rejected the money telling me he is paid well and does not need the "roger".

        I was enjoying this dream when i was jerked back to reality when my neighbour who was just returning from a journey woke me up to tell me how some policemen harassed,extorted and almost molested them and their driver when coming,simply because the driver refused to "roger"well. according to my neighbour,all the passengers virtually had to sit down under the scorching heat till the driver with the help of some passengers was able to come up with the exact amount of money demanded by the policemen.
   Why am recounting this to you? to call to mind the sordid and almost unsalvageable state of the police force. whats with the gross abuse of human rights,open corruption and subversion of justice etc. This is not to say that all policemen are corrupt,but majority are. I earnestly hope the corruption clean up broom of the president will turn on the police force too because the stench from the force is choking. The masses have lost hope in the force.  only a clean up can restore that hope!
