A Lagos Magistrate Court, sitting in Ikeja, has granted
two security guards, who allegedly gang-raped a
teenage girl, bail in the sum of N1 million.
The defendants, Gabriel Vincent, 26, and 25-year-old
Anthony Oguche, where arraigned with a three-count
charge of conspiracy, abduction and rape.
The Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, who granted
them bail in the sum of N500,000 each, ordered that
they produce two responsible sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi directed that their case files be sent to the
Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Imhonwa, told the
court that both defendants committed the offences on
August 27 at 5.00 p.m. at their office, Santos Ventures,
Akowonjo Roundabout, Egbeda, Lagos.
Imhonwa told the court that the security guards lured
the 15-year-old girl into their room at the security
post, held her hostage for hours before raping her.
“They held her in their room against her will,
manhandled her and then raped her that evening,” the
prosecutor said.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened
Sections 137,141, and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos
State, 2011.
When the charges were read, the accused denied
committing the act
The Magistrate subsequently adjourned the matter till
October 26.
